Paul condemns being worldly.
Here is what he says about it:
1 Corinthians 3:1
[ The Church and Its Leaders ] Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:3
You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?
2 Corinthians 1:12
[ Paul’s Change of Plans ] Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace.
2 Corinthians 1:17
Was I fickle when I intended to do this? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say both “Yes, yes” and “No, no”?
2 Corinthians 5:16
So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.
2 Corinthians 7:10
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.
9.Titus 2:12
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
17.John 14:30
I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me,
not of this world
John 15:19
If you belonged to the
world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the
world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
John 17:9
I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have
given me, for they are yours.
John 17:14
I have given them your word and the world has
hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
John 17:15
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect
them from the evil one.
.John 17:16
They are not of the world,
even as I am not of it.
.John 18:36
Jesus said, "My
kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my
arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."
We know them by their fruit:
Matthew 7:19-21
New International Version (NIV)
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. _________________ YHWH is my God and Jesus is my Lord |
