because the same did their parents (mothers) , and the young ones were taught like this. |

this is the biblical instruction
tha fact is, I don't remember any Society' explanation on this , except the fact that when praying , the sisters should cover their head .
but in east europe(romania russia) , from old times of JW , brothers and sisters considered that the sisters must cover their head when participating at every kind of spiritual activity : praying(home or other place , alone or with others) , singing , preaching , reading from Bible or WT literature , etc.
that's happening until today
personally, I can't have opinions about this/can't comment this.
