Everything is correct, except the part that is boldfaced. Jesus did not change to spirit when He rose from the grave. Jesus has a physical body in heaven. But it's not the same body that He had when He died....the body that He was raised with is a new creation.....nothing like it have ever existed before. We will also have this kind of body when Jesus returns.

Welcome BFSmith to the NR. You are inspiration to all of us for your faith and your polite manner, IMHO. I am not Ronald but he is my fellow nontrine friend and I would like to respond.

I dont recognize your reasoning from the Scriputre. Would you care to show us?

Jesus changed into the former Himself (angel being). All angels are spirit beings like God the Father.

Quote:
I'd have to go farther, Jesus never changed (Heb 13:Cool. He was God manifested in the flesh (1 Tim 3:16),

1 Timothy 3:16 (King James Version)

16And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

God was manifested does not mean Jesus was God. There is difference.

Quote:
Jesus body did change; He had a hole in His side as well as His hands, which Jesus called Thomas to put his hand in. If Jesus had His old body He would be dead since the old body cannot live with a gaping hole in it.

His Spitit never changed. He was perfect in His conduct; His faithfulness, righteousness and holiness.

Quote:
John 20:27 (BBE)
27 Then he said to Thomas, Put out your finger, and see my hands; and put your hand here into my side: and be no longer in doubt but have belief.

yes.

Quote:
Hebrews 13:8 is not talking about His physical body; it’s talking about His character or nature.

You are right. I dont know why you are objecting Ronald's comments because he is not saying it otherwise.

Quote:
Before the Word became Jesus as we know Him, He did not have a body. But once the World became a human being He took on the nature of a human being, except becoming sinful.

John 1:1-2 (ASV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.

Your point? I (or Ronald)did not say anything different.

Quote:
Jesus was born with a body just as we were born with a body. The Word who became Jesus did not lose His divinity as God, but He added humanity to His Godhood.....He was fully God and fully man/human at the same time. Jesus died for our sin, but this also includes our body as well. His body was beaten and pierced for the sake of our body.

From eternity the Word was predestined to become like us.....having a body/made like His brethren.

John 1:14 (ASV)
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

Above verse is not saying anything what you are saying.

Quote:
Hebrews 2:17 (ASV)
17 Wherefore it behooved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Above verse is not saying anything that you are saying.

Quote:
The Bible tells us that we will inherit a spiritual body and that it will be like Jesus' body.

Only the elect will be spiritual beings.

Quote:
1 Corinthians 15:35-44 (ASV)
35 But some one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what manner of body do they come?
36 Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened except it die:
37 and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other kind;
38 but God giveth it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

Ok.

Quote:
The body that we were born with is a natural body, but the body that we will receive at Jesus second coming will be a spiritual body. It will be an immortal body; it will be a body that is not dependant on the things that the natural body needs to live. We will not need to eat or drink. We will not need air to breath in order to live. We will not get tired or weary. We will have no need whatsoever. Our desire will only to serve and do what God does. Nothing at all will be impossible for us to do.

We will be like Jesus, with a new and glorified body.

1 John 3:2 (BBE)
2 My loved ones, now we are children of God, and at present it is not clear what we are to be. We are certain that at his revelation we will be like him; for we will see him as he is.

This verse is explaining the elect. Not all of us will be elect.

Quote:
There is no such thing in the Bible as a spirit body. I guarantee you, you will never find it mentioned in the Bible. It's a contradiction to say spirit body, since be definition spirit is without body. We will be a unique creation; existing both in the physical realm and the spirit realm at the same time.
I say all that to show from the scriptures that Jesus has a physical body.

Only elect will be spirit like YHWH and Jesus and rest of the angels. The rest of us will still be the same person except we will have perfect body.
