It is a big thing about the mainstream church to make sure that "our good works cannot save you".
Not only it is unnecessary but also dishonors God and Jesus because we are told to be faithful to Him until the end or "if you love Me, keep My commandments" or
"You will be judged according to what you have done". "be faithful until the end" and many more.
Revelation 20:13
The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.

Everyone will hate you because you follow me. But the one who remains faithful to the end will be saved.
